Noah Streif doesn’t just fly on a bike. The American from Boise, Idaho is fascinated by planes. Noah is studying aeronautical engineering in Munich, Germany, where he has made his European home. He got to fly with a family friend when he was younger and builds remote control planes for fun.

The only thing better than taking off for Noah is soaring down a smooth asphalt road on his bike. Noah is a strong time-trialist, who took the win at the opening stage of the Green Mountain Stage Race Juniors in 2024 and went on to finish fifth overall, while racing for EF Education-ONTO. That season he had 13 overall top-ten results and made his debut at the world championships.

This year, he is going to learn everything he can, help his EF Education-Aevolo teammates, and go for some big results to show his strength. He wants to go as far as he can in cycling. That means the Tour de France. This season with with EF Education-Aevolo is a big step in that direction for Noah Streif.

Questions & Answers

What is your favourite climb? What makes it special?

Bogus Basin Road in Boise, Idaho is my favorite climb. It's the biggest training climb that we have in Boise. It is where I do most of my training when I am home. I've been up it countless times. The Strava segment is extremely competitive meaning a good time up Bogus is a huge bragging point especially since Matteo Jorgenson has the KOM.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?

I would really like to visit the Philippines as well as Australia and New Zealand. I have done my fair share of traveling around the world but have never been to that corner of the globe. It's a huge swath of the earth which I have not gotten the chance to explore.

If you weren't a professional cyclist, what would you be? Why?

I would be an aeronautical engineer. I really enjoy the technical side of things and have a fascination with anything that flies. When I was younger, I got to fly frequently with a family friend. I have built remote controlled aircraft in my free time for years.

Which emoji do you use the most?

The laughing emoji.

How did you get into cycling?

I started in NICA (national interscholastic cycling association) but really took off during the COVID lockdown.
