Noah Hobbs wins stage 1 at Tour de l'Avenir
Brit finishes off powerful sprint in Saint-Galmier to take eighth win of the year
August 24, 2025
EF Education-Aevolo powerhouse sprinter, Noah Hobbs, took a resounding victory on stage 1 of the Tour de l'Avenir with a blistering sprint to the line in Saint-Galmier.
Hobbs, racing the French stage race as part of the Great Britain national team, was set up perfectly by his teammates inside the final few kilometers, following a frenetic day of racing. A last-ditch attack from a rider from Denmark was swallowed up inside the final straight before Noah opened his sprint to take his eighth win of the 2025 season. Once he hit the front inside the final 150m, there was no stopping Noah.
“With the hills, it was pretty hard at the end,” a delighted Noah said at the finish.
“But I knew that if it came down to a sprint, then I would have a pretty good chance, so that’s what we planned to do as a team. In the end, it worked out perfectly,” he added.
Stage 2 of the race could also end in a bunch sprint. Good luck, Noah!
